CCC Helps Reinforce Best Practice Decisions in Auto Physical Damage Repair Estimates
Enhanced CCC Accumark™ Advisor prompts repairers and insurers to review estimates before submitting; includes reporting functionality
Chicago – August 21, 2007 – In 2006, more than 50 percent of estimates sent through CCC required a supplement, and each contained an average of more than two missed items. Helping to address these issues, CCC Information Services Inc. announced today the availability of CCC Accumark™ Advisor version 1.1, which automatically prompts appraisal sources to confirm that repair items and operations have been included and insurer guidelines have been met before locking and transmitting the estimate.
CCC has seen significant year-over-year increases in the number of audits conducted through its electronic audit solutions, with more than 20 million estimates and supplements processed through CCC since 2005. CCC Accumark Advisor version 1.1 also includes information reporting that summarizes appraisal source decisions.
Early trials of CCC Accumark Advisor version 1.1 have demonstrated improvements in the estimate-writing and approval process. “We manage multiple DRP relationships, each of which has specific guidelines for us to follow and different KPIs for us to meet,” said Vern David, Manager of Central Body Works, a Bakersfield, CA-based repair facility. “With CCC Accumark Advisor version 1.1, we can double check estimates before we send them to the carrier, enabling us to write more complete estimates and reduce the number of estimates requiring supplements. This saves us valuable time and resources.”
An integrated feature of CCC Pathways® Estimating Solution, CCC Accumark Advisor is accessible by simply clicking on the ‘audit’ button from within the estimate. Estimates are automatically reviewed against guidelines established by repairers and insurers. Version 1.1 of CCC Accumark Advisor includes approximately 70 new rules in addition to the 115 rules available in the original version of the product. Two operational reporting features are also included in the latest version that helps provide insight into estimating trends. CCC Accumark Advisor is available to both repairers and insurers.
“Increasing vehicle complexity and varying insurer-specific guidelines have made estimate writing more complicated,” said Debbie Day, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, CCC. “The enhanced version of CCC Accumark Advisor will deliver efficiencies throughout the repair and settlement process. Appraisal sources now have improved capability to write more complete estimates the first time, helping to reduce the number of supplements required.”
